Sorry I didn't get this up until now, but I didn't have internet access in Somerset. The series started off on the right foot. We won a very close game with great pitching and timely hitting. The last 2 games were a different story. Although we had good pitching, we couldn't get the hits we needed in crucial situations. That happens sometimes, especially early in the season. Everyone presses trying to do too much rather than just relaxing and letting your talent take over. I know I'm guilty of it. You try so hard to do everything right all the time that the pressure eventually gets to you and you make mistakes. With the series over now and having an off day yesterday, I think things will be back to normal. |

As well as a baseball player, I am also the Baseball Development Director for Exact Sports. It is a year-round position, but it does not affect me playing whatsoever. I am very excited about this opportunity to not only work in sports, but to help others in the pursuit of their dreams. Basically, think of Exact Sports as like the NFL Combine, only our tests are more in-depth and geared toward athletes of all ages in all sports. Our team of scientists then use this information to create a single, complete picture of an athlete's potential for success both on and off the field. For players, this is a great way to make your name and skills known to coaches and scouts everywhere. For coaches, we take the guesswork out of tryouts or projecting a player's potential. It's also a great way to identify your current players' strengths and weaknesses so the proper training and instruction can be given. |

Starting in late April and lasting throughout the entire baseball season, I will be giving baseball lessons in the Waldorf/St Charles area. Lessons will be offered to kids ages 8-22. Instruction will focus on the proper mechanics of the professional swing. Instruction can also be given in other areas (defense, pitching, baserunning, bunting) at your request. For the more advanced player, I will go into detail on the finer aspects of the game including training secrets, professional drills, and the proper mental approach to the game. |

The Hometown Homers Foundation is a charitable fund that I am in the process of setting up. The basic premise is I will raise money through various means and then give away that money to deserving causes, mostly here in the Southern Maryland area. Money will be raised through different events at Blue Crabs games, private donations, silent auctions of autographed memorabilia, a golf outing and others yet to be determined. |
